A is for Android?

I want to give 5 stars but sadly the first page has a huge mistake on it! I have been looking forward to getting this for my husband and newborn son for months. It is well written but the letter A has a huge mistake! A is for Android.... however Seven of Nine is NOT an Android, and you are missing the NUMBER ONE ANDROID - Data!!!

WHERE IS CHEKOV

This is the fourth Star Trek Golden Book I have bought and there isn't a single mention of Chekov in any of them. It feels like they're trying to erase his character since the actor died. Anyway, C is for Chekov, not communicator. There are a lot of questionable choices for each letter assignment, and I know not everybody will be happy, but COME ON! How is "Z" not for Zefram Cochrane? Also, "Borg" is already plural. 1 Borg, 2 Borg, a whole lot of Borg, not "Borgs."

Encourage youngster interest in Star Trek

Has references to all Star Trek series, a bit heavier on the original. Pictures are nice. Humans not super accurate to the actors & ladies are extra curvy but still looks good. Nice bright colors and fun to read to a little (hopefully) future Trekkie. Glad Q (one of my fav) got a whole page and Xindis came in handy. Fun to think about what other Trek things the letters could be for. Some choices I thought were odd, but the alphabet just isn't long enough to add all the greats!

O is for odd choices

As the father of a three-year-old, I think the idea for this book is really great. However, the choices made by the author reveal a disappointing lack of familiarity with Star Trek. The page on Federation shows a Cardassian (!) and Worf (who is himself a Federation citizen but is there to help illustrate the diversity of species - except that his species is not in the Federation). Kirk and Janeway illustrate their respective letters, but the other captains don't - why? Finally, as another reviewer has pointed out, how come Z is for Zetarans instead of Zefran Cochrane?!?

Nice alternative to traditional Alphabet books

My book came damaged, but I should be receiving a replacement in 2 days. However, that’s not my reason for only giving 3 stars. My biggest complaint is that Riker is pictures with BROWN EYES. I’m very disappointed in this error. There is also a crewman on the same page with red hair and is red shirt. I hope this wasn’t meant to be Dr. Crusher. I also would’ve liked to see more a Voyager, TNG, and DS9 considering there are already a few Little Golden books on TOS.

Novelty only and worth skipping.

Bought it for the novelty and as a joke for some kids, but really crappy as a kids book given the choice of words representing each letter amd use of obscure alien references from TOS rather than more common occurrences that cross all series. I wouldnt buy this again.

Boldly Going Where No Baby Has Gone Before - Printed in USA

Since I got this book, a few weeks ago, I read it everyday to my 3 month old son, and he really focuses on it. He loves the art and the sentences are actually just long enough for him to pay attention. I think the "S" page is his favorite - no spoilers. For $4.99, this is an excellent purchase for a Trekkie who wants to pass their passion down to an important child in their life. Printed in USA

I love this book

I can't wait to indoctrinate my daughter into the world of star trek. It has some great vocabulary words. i mean i wish P was for Picard as Ph might give a baby learning their abcs the wrong idea about the sounds the letters make but still I'm so very happy with it. A must buy for expecting parents in a star trek house hold for sure!

A simple and fun introductory Trek book for your little one!

Is this book flawless? No, of course not, and you'll certainly find dozens of reviews here nitpicking the ever-living crap out of everything in it, complaining about who it does and doesn't have, and compiling their personal lists of "what should have been" for each letter (actually, that brings up a point; it'd be neat if they could just remake this book every year or two with different nouns for each letter), and otherwise acting like this book should somehow fit into Trek canon perfectly with a stardate and deep backstory. Whatever! It's cute, it's got far more unique choices than many other alphabet books do, and it SHOULD be just a little bit of fun for any adult familiar with the shows to read to a child. In fact, I feel like a couple of the choices are a little obscure, even. All I know is if this book ever lead to a little kid coming up to me and saying "X is for Xindi!", then all is right with the world.

Toddler Loves These Trek Books

My granddaughter, who is only two, loves this series of Star Trek books. She asks her mother to read them to her over and over. I gave her the Star Trek Animated Series from decades ago, but the show doesn't hold her interest (she's too young). But these books captivate her. Recommended.
